The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) continues to place emphasis on industry training and education. Hence, IAM has entrusted Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM) to co-organise the Food Hygiene Supervision Course. Through systemic courses, this programme aims at improving the food safety standard of the industry and assisting the industry with their food safety precautions. Participation of the food industry in Macao is highly encouraged.
The course began in July 2015. The course has been held each month with approximately 30 seats in each class. This programme is targeting employees who are recommended by their catering or food industry employers in Macao. The whole course takes 9 hours and the content covers the regulations and standards of the “Food Safety Law”, food traceability record retention, equipment and its specification for food operation establishments, food processing and control, hygiene and training for food handlers, pest and rodent control and waste disposal, cleaning and disinfection, introduction of “Registration System for Establishments of Takeaway Activities”, etc. Participants of this course are assessed by examination. The students are required to finish 8 hours of lecture and are examined in the last hour. For those who pass the examination, a certificate of “Food Hygiene Supervision Course” will be issued to them. This aims at encouraging the active participation of the industry in continuous learning and improving their management efficiency and law-abiding self-awareness.
