Training Courses on‘Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene’for Food Trade

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) offers systematic training on food safety for food trade of Macao, and constantly organises training courses on ‘Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene’, which consist of two modules totalling 7 hours. The first module, ‘Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene Basic Course’, covers the ‘Food Safety Law’, food safety standards, food safety practices, etc. The second module, ‘Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene Advanced Course’, it talks about how to improve food handling and risk control, food handling in times of a power outage or flooding, strengthening food safety and hygiene management, identifying signs of rodents and methods to effectively prevent and eliminate rodent infestation, and raising the awareness of food trade on waste disposal and environmental hygiene. For participants who have completed the ‘Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene Basic Course’ and passed the assessment, they can enrol for the ‘Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene Advanced Course’. IAM hopes to enhance food industry’s awareness of hygiene and safety standards in Macao for a long-run by offering a diverse and comprehensive range of educational resources and on-the-job training.

 

IFood Safety and Environmental Hygiene Basic Course

 

Target group:

Food trade and relevant personnel (Please, submit an employment verification)

 

Activities/Themes:

Food safety laws and regulations, food hygiene and operation, rodent prevention and environmental hygiene

 

Venue:

Trade Zone of Department of Food Safety of IAM on the 1st floor of Iao Hon Hawkers’ Building

 

Schedule:

(The last Thursday of every month, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

IIFood Safety and Environmental Hygiene Advanced Course

 

Target group:

Practitioners of food trade who completed the Basic Course

 

Activities/Themes:

Food traceability and management, implementation of food safety laws and standards, food handling and control, identifying signs of rodent infestation, prevention and environmental hygiene, emergency response in times of a power outage or flooding, waste disposal of food establishments, personal hygiene, cleaning and disinfection of equipment

 

Venue:

Trade Zone of the Department of Food Safety of IAM on the 1st floor of Iao Hon Hawkers’ Building

 

Schedule:

Class 1: 14th April 2021 and 15th April 2021

Class 2: 14th July 2021 and 15th July 2021

Class 3: 10th November 2021 and 11th November 2021

 

*The 5-hour Advanced Course lasts for two days with 2.5 hours per session.

Time: 2:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
